s
you approach Qamea the beauty of the
dense green rainforest and striking
contrast of the white sand beach is
startling. The bures are
visible from the water,
but
nestled back among palm trees in a
way that makes you feel that's where
they (and you) belong. The
setting is 100 verdant acres of
gardens and bush extending inland
from a kilometer long beach - widely
accepted as one of the North's
finest. From the resort the
views are dramatic, with lush gardens
and beautiful beach giving way to a
west-facing vista that showcases
Taveuni Island and some most
impressive sunsets.
very
one of the 16 bures and villas have a
spacious footprint of over 650 square
feet and
reflect
traditional Fijian architecture
throughout. They were designed
and sited with both privacy and
panoramic views in mind, and neither
is compromised. From the
hand-polished native mahogany
hardwood flooring to the towering 20
foot high thatched roofs, each bure
features detailed craftsmanship and
discerning decor. Design
features include covered decks,
outdoor river stone courtyard
showers, large bathrooms with heated
towel racks and European fittings,
and air conditioning. The
amenities are top-drawer as well - a
fully stocked mini-bar, tea and
French press coffee facilities and
Pure Fiji brand toiletries.
Antique Fijian art from local
villages and nearby islands adorn the
interiors. When it is time for
bed, a plush king-size bed with high
thread count Egyptian cotton bedding
beckons.

n
addition to the 11 deluxe Beachfront
Bures there are several other premium
accommodation categories.
There are 2 Premium Villas
that represent Qamea's finest
accommodation, located at the far end
of the beach to offer the utmost
privacy and seclusion along with
maximum levels of luxury for
discriminating couples. These
villas have generous covered decks
and private pools that open right to
the beach with wonderful lagoon views
to capture those romantic sunsets.
The interior feel is open and airy,
with both indoor and private outdoor
courtyard showers and
double
vanity sinks. There is
even an elevated boardwalk that
accommodates guests staying in the
Premium Villas.

he
Honeymoon Bures are both quite
spacious, and command the best views
from the resort. The bathrooms
alone are over 300 square feet, and
are
designed so that the walls can be
retracted to reveal an exclusive
outdoor courtyard complete with
a private natural stone Jacuzzi pool
with waterfall. No details are
overlooked. There is even a
covered gazebo area off of the beach
side deck sporting a day bed and
privacy curtains.

over 1200 square feet of luxury on 2
levels, the Honeymoon Villa is
raised above the lawn with the
lounge
area occupying
the
lower level and the bedroom 2 steps
up. Each level faces the ocean
and has access via sliding glass
doors to a spacious verandah.
As with the Premium Villas, the
Honeymoon Villa offers both a private
outdoor river rock shower and an
indoor shower in an oversize bathroom
with double sinks. The outdoor
shower is in a courtyard along with a
Jacuzzi spa pool. The whole
experience is incredibly romantic!

on the beach with seawater gently
lapping at it's deck, Qamea's
Guinot Spa offers a smorgasbord
of almost 50 Fijian and French
therapies. If you prefer, the
professionally trained therapists
will come to your bure, but either
way you can't miss
out
on this special treat. Guinot
products and
equipment
are featured as well as local Fiji
products. From manicures and
pedicures to massages, body wraps and
scrubs to sunburn relief treatment,
you will be amazed at the Spa's list
of treatments. There is even a
range of products and treatments
designed specifically for men!
Guinot Institut·Paris combines
specialized facial techniques and
ingredients carefully selected by
expert international beauticians
designed to deliver excellent facial
results.
uisine
at Qamea is on a
par
with the best restaurants of London,
Sydney, Auckland and other large
cities. Executive Chef Michele
Campbell and 6 full time Fijian chefs
(collectively representing over
100
years experience!) use only fresh,
organic fruits and vegetables (many
from the resort's own garden),
freshly caught local seafood and
Australia and New Zealand beef and
poultry. Best described as
South
Pacific
Rim, Qamea's cuisine definitely has
an international flair.
Afternoon and evening meals typically
begin with a choice of 2 starter
entrees and 3 main entrees, but if
you don't see anything listed that
interests you the chefs are happy to
offer alternate choices.
Breakfasts have no menu and you
are
free to order whatever you like.
Snacks are also on demand. Any
special diets can be catered for
(dependent on availability of
ingredients - advance notice is
appreciated). Australia, New
Zealand and California wines are
featured (and stored in a temperature
controlled cellar), but there is also
a full licensed bar.

e
are pleased to announce that we have
greatly enhanced our river stone
jungle pool with the addition of over
1,500 square feet of wood deck,
complete
with three thatched bure style
private day beds. Guests have long
raved about the
uniqueness
of our swimming pool, but some have
commented that that river stones can
be difficult to walk on. With our new
deck and comfortable daybeds, guests
can enjoy the beauty and serenity of
the Qamea jungle, just steps away
from their Beachfront Bure or Villa,
and the new deck is easy to walk on!
We also recently added a new dive
boat and continue to invest heavily
in our dive operation!

f
course, there's the diving.
Many world renowned sites like Purple
Wall, Qamea Freeway and Maria's Cove
are within 10-15 minutes of the
resort. Charters to the
Somosomo Strait (Great White Wall,
Yellow Grotto, Rainbow Reef, etc.)
and other more distant sites can be
organized (along with a 3rd tank) for
an additional charge. Qamea's
fully accredited PADI dive operation
can handle anything from a refresher
course or a resort course up through
advanced certifications.
A
2-tank boat dive is a typical dive
day, but additional afternoon and
night dives can also be arranged.
The Qamea dive staff makes your
diving effortless, handling your
equipment and assisting wherever
needed. The guides are experts
at finding all of those hard-to-find
and exotic underwater creatures that
you came to Fiji to see!

You should be very proud of what you
have assembled at Qamea. Many staff
complimented the both of you as good
and caring owners. I had the
opportunity to go to the
village where you just recently
donated a Boat. They were having a
celebration in honoring your very
nice gesture and they were very
grateful for your generous gift

Well,
this time I cried even harder when we
had to leave. I can't explain the
profound depth of my feelings for
Fiji and Qamea. I actually feel
privileged and honored that Qamea
shares their home with us. They
totally spoil us when we are there.
We intend to come back evey two or
three years, and stay at least two
weeks every time! Qamea is the
closest place to Heaven we have ever
been. Tony

My wife and I recently returned from
our eight night honeymoon at Qamea.
We cannot say enough good things
about the Fijian people. The staff at
Qamea were unbelievably attentive and
went out of their way to make you
feel welcome and at home. The
cuisine was creative, tasty and
composed of quality ingredients.
Special attention was given to the
plating of the dishes and they were
always served piping hot. The cooks
were happy to make us something off
menu if the daily choices did not
appeal. We stayed in a premium
villa. Worth every penny. The private
pool on the balcony was particularly
pleasurable. We already have
plans to renew our vows there in five
years. The only bad thing about Qamea
was leaving it. Josh & Emma,

Nothing that I could say would
possibly suffice to evoke the
feelings we had about this spot; nor,
could I really share sufficiently
well to help anyone understand why
grown men and their wives would all
shed tears as we pulled away from
shore to the farewell songs being
sung by the staff members who have
extraordinarily beautiful voices
producing haunting harmonies.
We've been traveling extensively
during our 39 years of marriage while
our traveling companions have been
married 25 years and travel
constantly. None of us could think of
anywhere we'd stayed, including other
tropical isles with resorts ranked 5
stars, which pleased us more. As
others have written, the staff
members are fantastic, the snorkeling
is terrific, the food quality and
variety are both quite positive with
some of the local fish catches being
excellent, the pool, naturalistic
with rounded river-type rock surface,
is pleasant and the setting just
fantastic. (As reported in

The total Fijian experience - warm
warm people; spectacular diving,
delicious food, welcoming atmosphere
& beautiful bures. Even though we
dove most days, we did indulge in the
spa - where we received the best
treatments of our lives. We cannot
thank you enough for inviting us to
stay with you, well beyond what we
had planned for. We will glow with
the memory of our stay and your
generosity for a long, long time. Our
love and thanks to all! Kristen
